I am King Kelvin, Researcher and Data Scientist
Dr. Kelvin K. King is an assistant professor at Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. He has multiple journal and conference publications on the diffusion of falsehoods on social media and mechanisms to detect and mitigate them. His primary research, leverages econometric models, machine learning algorithms as well as lab and field experiments and consists of three, often overlapping streams. The first stream is on the intersection of behavioral economics and information decision-making in virtual communities. The second stream focuses on health informatics. The third stream focuses on information diffusion and big data use. Kelvin has an extensive field/industry experience in the area of big data. His research has received many awards including the first place award in the 2018 UTRGV Graduate Research Symposium, Ph.D. Student Excellence Award in Information Systems 2018, a National Science Foundation travel grant in 2019, the Best Poster Award at the 14th International Conference on Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology in 2019, the Robert C. Vackar Endowed Scholarship Award in 2020, the Robert Vackar College of Business & Entrepreneurship Research Award 2020 and quite recently the 2021 PhD Project – Baruch College Doctoral Research Fellowship award .
